Double victory: Thermomix receives renowned design awards
The Thermomix® TM6 has convinced the jury – not only once but twice! The new user interface developed by Vorwerk, UID and intive has been recognized with the Red Dot Design Award and the UX Design Award | Product. Two design awards with global acclaim in one go! We are beaming with pride and are extremely happy for UID’s Project Manager Philipp and his team!
Recipe for success: outstanding design
The Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design is one of the most prestigious design awards worldwide. In keeping with the motto “in search of good design and creativity” it awards the best creative achievements from all over the world. In 2019, the jury of experts selected the Thermomix® TM6 from 8,697 submissions as one of the winners. Thanks to the intuitive user navigation and the outstanding design quality made by UID, cooking has not only become as easy as pie but is now also a unique experience. “We are very proud that we have been able to co-design the future of cooking with Vorwerk since 2009. We are overjoyed by the fact that the new user interface design not only fits the taste of the users but has also been able to convince the Red Dot Award jury,” says Philipp Schröder, Project Manager at UID.

Smart cooking ecosystem with holistic UX
The digital recipe platform Cookidoo® opens up new cooking horizons. Round 50,000 international recipes that can be accessed via internet, mobile device or straight from the Thermomix® TM6 provide a seemingly endless source of inspiration. Recipe suggestions clustered by categories, an intuitive weekly planning feature and a smart shopping assistant provide a holistic cooking experience. That way, Vorwerk, intive and UID developed a smart cooking ecosystem that amazes users with seamless interaction across devices and convinced the jury of the UX Design Award. The online platform Cookidoo® was selected from 51 finalists from 20 countries as one of the ten champions.
And now it’s time to party! The UX Design Award will be handed over on September 6 at the IFA in Berlin. The party continues on November 1 at the Red Dot Gala.
