Mastering the use of AR in medicine
When designing AR applications for medical use, UX designers are confronted with special challenges – from difficult lighting conditions to strict hygiene regulations and the absolute precision that is required when tracking and positioning the holograms. Thanks to our guidelines, you are well-equipped for these challenges. They are based on our experiences from the HoloMed research project and sum up the dos and don’ts in four fields.
In our guidelines you will learn:
- how you can contribute to reducing distraction and increasing safety in the OR
- where holograms and feedback are best positioned in AR applications for medical use
- what role the OR environment plays for the choice of colors and contrasts
- how you should configure the interaction of medical professionals with the app
