Renovated headquarters provide space for technology & design

We are excited about our newly designed Ludwigsburg headquarters. After 6 months of renovations, 100 UID staff members and their families attended our house warming party to celebrate the end of the construction works.

Enjoying cocktails, listening to groovy sounds and having a good time. Managing Director Franz Koller explained the new concept to the guests: "We have created a new environment that enables us to develop and implement creative ideas even better. Our quest for quality is now reflected in our facilities and is therefore even more tangible for us and our customers. The renovations have resulted in better opportunities for face-to-face encounters and communication, and they provided us with diverse premises that meet varying work requirements." The reconstruction works were supported by the renowned Stuttgart interior design agency Ziegler-Bürg.

Core work principles reflected in our new premises:

Communication

The communication center at the heart of our offices is where we spend our lunch breaks or exchange the latest findings from our research projects. Communication is essential for us – and can be even more successful in our new facilities. The library, numerous magazines and a media touch display at the communication center provide a welcoming atmosphere.

Flexibility

The modular concept of the facilities allows us to adapt the offices to the individual requirements of our projects. Silent workspace, design thinking office, open space or communication center – the offices are used as fits the situation. That way, we manage to keep the balance between interacting with colleagues and working in an undisturbed setting.

Network culture

Usability engineers share their desk with software engineers, designers work opposite user experience consultants. A networked, holistic approach is natural for the way we work – and this is reflected in our workplace design.

Expressive power

The new rooms reflect our work ethics: They are concise, well-organized, creative and aesthetic. This helps us to achieve superior design quality and to focus on the essentials, creating a compelling user experience.
