UID celebrates its 10th anniversary with an exciting anniversary program
Usability, Software and Design – a combination of disciplines that was rather unknown 10 years ago. Today, User Interface Design GmbH (UID) looks back to more than 1000 projects with approx. 250 customers. This is enough reason to celebrate this anniversary with an exciting calender of events. In addition to the theme evenings of "Medical Solutions" and "International User Research", there will be some opportunities to celebrate in Ludwigsburg, Dortmund, Mannheim and Munich.
"Ten years ago, we started to simplify technology for people with a team of four employees. Today, UID is a leading service and consulting company which finds promising solutions with a team of more than 50 employees in Ludwigsburg, Dortmund, Mannheim and Munich", says Dr. Claus Görner, managing director of UID. In 1998, Dr. Claus Görner and Franz Koller founded User Interface Design GmbH (UID). Two years later, the Munich office was established, which now sets a benchmark in user research with its test studio. UID also scores internationally: In 2005, UID established a worldwide network of usability companies - the International Usability Partners (IUP). Today, UID offers access to services in more than 20 countries. In Germany, UID also set highlights: With two new offices in Mannheim (2006) and Dortmund (2008), UID shows optimal customer orientation in all branches.
UID celebrates – and is proud of its story of success
In 2007, the UID headquarter moved to new premises, giving a new ambiance to Usability, Software and Design. The kick-off celebration will be on February 8, starting an exceptional anniversary year. The new premises will be inaugurated with customers, cooperation partners and employees. Visitors will be welcomed with culinary delicacies and culture, music and art and charity. Celebrations will also be held in the new office in Dortmund: On September 25, the office will be inaugurated officially. The final highlight of the anniversary year will be a party with customers, partners and employees on November 21.
Theme evenings set usability-specific highlights
During the last ten years, the UID employees decisively influenced the development of human-machine interaction. Numerous publications, lectures, and events set highlights. In the anniversary year, UID hosts theme evenings with top-class lecturers, inviting guests to inform themselves and discuss. The bridge between medical engineering and usability will be built by Prof. Dr. Paul Schmücker, Head of the Department of Medical Informatics of the Mannheim University, and Alexander Steffen, UID, Manager Medical Solutions, on Februar 28 in Mannheim. The theme evening in Munich on May 29 will be dedicated to "International User Research". Prof. Dr. Christoph Häberle, Stuttgart Media University, and Jakob Biesterfeldt, UID, Manager International User Research, will show culture and country-specific requirements of interactive products.
Let's start the next decade!
With four offices in Germany and the different qualifications of our employees, we are able to support customers from the first product idea to continuous improvement in complex and extensive projects, says Franz Koller, managing director of UID. The events are supposed to give an outlook to the next decade and to encourage future projects. 10 years of UID: Let's party!
