Whether it is for banking, shopping, or online auctions: mobile transactions via cell phone, smart phone or PDA are more and more common. The International Usability Partners (IUP) examined this trend topic in an international user research study. User Interface Design GmbH (UID) and the IUP presented the results on the conference "Usability Professionals’ Association (UPA) Europe 2008".

Employees and guests from the area around Dortmund came to see the new premises and learn more about trends such as Mobile Banking and Unified User Experience. The UID designer Sebastian Schulz also said "Hello" – this was the title of his extraordinary street art exhibition at the UID office.
The 7th International Information Design Symposium Beauty Matters! Usability and Aesthetics will try to give answers to questions about usability and aesthetics. It will take place on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien, HdM). The symposium is part of the beauty matters initiative and is organized by User Interface Design GmbH (UID) and others.
The childcare organization SOS-Kinderdörfer worldwide for children in need presents itself on the website www.sos-kinderdoerfer.de in a new internet appearance. The objective of the relaunch that has been supported by User Interface Design GmbH (UID) was to consistently adjust the website to the needs of the users and to combine easy navigation with attractive design.
Television of the future will be interactive. Although the technical possibilities may revolutionize TV entertainment, it seems to be obvious: The viewers prefer to lean back and ignore experiencing television. This was the result of a survey conducted by User Interface Design GmbH (UID) which was presented on the occasion of the International Consumer Electronics trade fair (IFA) 2008 in Berlin.
Together with partners from all over Europe, User Interface Design GmbH (UID) develops a new software system for the design of senior-oriented living environments. By means of virtual reality, planners and future residents will be able to experience technological novelties of living environments before their implementation. The European Union funds this research project which is supposed to allow people an independent life to old age.

User Interface Design GmbH (UID) took part in the "INDUSTRIEPREIS der Initiative Mittelstand" (industry award of the MSE initiative) for the first time, promptly winning this award. With "User Centered Innovation", UID left behind its competitors.
Usability, Software and Design – a combination of disciplines that was rather unknown 10 years ago. Today, User Interface Design GmbH (UID) looks back to more than 1000 projects with 250 customers. This is enough reason to celebrate this anniversary with an exciting calender of events. In addition to theme evenings there will be some opportunities to celebrate in Ludwigsburg, Dortmund, Mannheim and Munich.
