Whether it is the blood sugar meter, hearing device or electronical health insurance card: Everyone has to deal with medical products frequently. Risk Management for these products has long been compulsory. Since July 2007, usability also plays an important role. Medical Safety Design combines these elements to support easy and safe operation. User Interface Design GmbH (UID) and Jörg Stockhardt consulting & more (c&m) will introduce this new service on November 8, 2007 on the World Usability Day at Stuttgart, Munich, and Mannheim.
With the opening of the new head office, User Interface Design GmbH (UID) continues its story of success. On 1,000 square meters, the Bleyle complex offers the optimal environment for usability, software and design "made by UID".
User Interface Design GmbH (UID) will present itself again this year on the Internet World Congress & Trade Fair on October 23 and 24, 2007 in Munich. Andreas Selter, Manager Web Solutions, will introduce modern interaction design solutions from a usability perspective in his workshop. As an exhibitor, UID will inform about usability for websites, online shops, and intranets.
No matter if you are on the way to your summer vacation or to work: electronic components control the cars of today. However, these controllers run through several years of development before they are applied. The continuous collaboration between ETAS Group and User Interface Design GmbH ensures more usability in the applied software tools.
Every second child between the ages of five and six has a very special playmate: a computer. Computer software manufacturers and providers for kids' websites make sure that their products are educational. At the same time, optimal usability should not be neglected, as kids do not only have a mind of their own, but also specific needs and requirements of an interactive system. In a study, User Interface Design GmbH (UID) and the Stuttgart Media University (HdM) now defines rules for usability engineering for and with kids.
Interactive products that are easy to use for German users are not necessarily easy to use for users in other countries. Finding suitable test participants abroad, however, poses a special challenge. As a member of the International Usability Partners (IUP), UID talked about experiences in international recruiting at the UPA Conference in Austin, Texas.

Despite this request, innovative technologies do not stop in front of operating rooms and sick rooms, which open new treatment and diagnosis possibilities – often by means of complicated medical engineering. Therefore, operating errors are counted among the most frequent reasons for medical accidents. The consequences are serious, as a human life depends on them in most cases. However, such errors can be avoided.
UID will present an user-friendly and innovative interface at the Hannover Fair from 16 to 20 April 2007. The solid-state laser TruPulse from TRUMPF is operated via a touch-sensitive operating panel combined with a turn-push-knob. Visitors can see and touch the innovative panel at the stand of Human-Machine-Interaction.
How to design industrial applications so easy that users can optimally handle them is what UID will show at the Hannover Fair. The innovative operating panel of the TRUMPF TruPulse laser, will be exhibited at the stand of Human-Machine-Interaction.
The Spanish dnx group has joined the worldwide network of International Usability Partners (IUP). The network of independent usability companies now consists of six partners, allowing international projects in more than 20 countries.
