The 7th International Information Design Symposium Beauty Matters! Usability and Aesthetics will try to give answers to questions about usability and aesthetics. It will take place on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien, HdM). The symposium is part of the beauty matters initiative and is organized by UID and others.
In order to quantify the value of their digital TV platform's User Experience, Microsoft compared their platform with local competitors in several countries worldwide. In Europe, Amberlight managed these studies. They asked UID to conduct a usability study comparing T-Home Entertain, a service of Microsoft’s customer Deutsche Telekom, to the service of a major competitor.
