Total User Experience

Many evaluation methods concentrate only on elements of the interactive product. Often this serves its purpose sufficiently. For a more thorough evaluation UID offers a "Total User Experience" investigation.

As with user Centered design, emphasis is put on the user and his needs. This test solution, however, not only tests the user interface, but the user-friendliness of the product in all stages of its lifecycle. Not only are all stages of the product lifecycle investigated-from the salesroom to customer services and maintenance, but also other factors that influence the product, such as packaging, user environment, handbooks and accessories. Results may therefore influence all stages of the development process.

Of additional interest is the customers' attitude and response the new product generates.
