Experiencing the design solution plays an important role in the user-centred design process. Our software team develops design prototypes making it possible for our customers and their users to get an impression during the design stages. These prototypes are not only useful in usability testing , but also for trade fairs and marketing purposes.

Our user interface full-service model naturally includes the development and preparation of user interface resources alongside conception and graphic design.

User-Centred Software Engineering

There is a wide spectrum of approach models concerning product development - from "not available" to V-models, RUP, and agile development methods or XP (Extreme Programming). Often the inclusion of users in development is of little importance and purely to ensure minimum software ergonomic standards. We can support you in an integral development process based on the DIN EN ISO 13407 with a user-centred development approach. We work with your developers and assist you in the implementing the product in your company. We also gladly offer you the option of coaching.

For requirements modelling we adopt use cases in line with the ideas of Larry Constantine and Alan Cockburn.


Documentation

Our detailed user interface specifications and application-specific styleguides support your developers in the implementation of interfaces.


Software Prototypes

We offer web-based prototypes as well as Flash and Director prototypes by means of Visual Basic, Java, C# or in other specific development environments.


Ready-to-use

In realising your user interfaces we do also provide ready-to-use design patterns and extensive widget set libraries which you may choose to integrate in your development environment.


Websites

We willingly take on the implementation of your websites as well as the preparations for presentation and information-CDs.


Embedded Systems

UID has a great deal of knowledge and experience in the development of user interfaces for embedded systems e.g. digital TV and remote control devices.
